And so the south american adventure begins.

It's about an hour until I land in rio, and my head is spinning with excitement and mild turbulence. I can't wait to see Hugo again.

The flight is certainly not as difficult to endure as I thought that it would be. That's as long as it doesn't crash in the next 45 minutes. I expect hill Jeebas won't let that happen though.

Thanks to my advanced technological on the go lifestyle, I've been able to watch films, listen to the sounds of screaming women through my headphones, and download a sleeping app that kinda made me dribble all over my top. Thankfully, the lady next to me is one of those polite ones that you find sometimes, and she didn't say anything or tell on me.

Now it's time to fill in the customs declaration form, and so this is the bit where I'm glad I decided against bringing the vacuum packed Teddy bears. I don't think my Portuguese is up to the level where i could accurately explain the fear in their eyes, frozen in time.

After that I guess I'll be brave enough to open the window screen and hope to see the bright lights of this Cidade marilvelosa. (sic) Let's see if it's what I expect.....
